The Challenge

Inspite of the astounding advances in
modern medicine during the last decade,
the problem of chronic disease
has only gotten worse.

A most frustrating challenge.

When it comes to acute and emergency care, modern medicine, the healthcare system and medical professionals have been absolute life savers, especially during the pandemic.

But with chronic disease, inspite of all the advances in treatments and drugs, the problem just keeps getting bigger. In the US and worldwide the annual statistics are staggering. The numbers are rising exponentially. Younger populations are being affected. Economies are draining with rising healthcare costs and worst of all, the quality of life and the joy of living are significantly diminished for the patients.

Chronic ailment patients are frustrated. The doctors treating them are frustrated. Healthcare agencies and governments are frustrated.

What are we missing?

Chronic disease is an extremely complex issue with a multitude of diverse contributors. And yet there is one issue which modern medicine has not addressed. With the best of medications, we can only treat “symptoms” and “manage” the chronic diseases because we only focus on the human BODY and the internal organ systems. The deep-down cause remains undiscovered. The very genesis of the onset of that disease stays buried.

Furthermore, there is mounting research and evidence that our MIND is intricately linked to our body and our wellbeing. We now know that our pent-up thoughts, emotions and feelings can slowly and silently contribute to the breakdown of our body and organ systems, leading to the onset of DIS-EASE.

Once we acknowledge and embrace this fact, we can open ourselves to the possibility of handling chronic diseases by treating the Body AND the Mind. This is exactly the new paradigm that the Mind Medicine Movement aspires to open up.
